Perhaps it was a year with good acidity.Grahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11282937250538290233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1632929314036232391.post-1094589249417235372011-04-30T07:41:41.967+01:002011-04-30T07:41:41.967+01:00Great selection of wines for your home consumption...Great selection of wines for your home consumption...I'm jealous.Vinogirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10145696108646897751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1632929314036232391.post-11822353311915403422011-04-29T21:16:33.723+01:002011-04-29T21:16:33.723+01:00I will order some o your German wines soon Leon ho...I will order some o your German wines soon Leon honest.
Graham I'm a big fan of Bruguiere, terrific value for money tooAlanMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00020464540350211578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1632929314036232391.post-34671242689312782562011-04-29T18:06:45.225+01:002011-04-29T18:06:45.225+01:00"Great to see you've given the Languedoc ..."Great to see you've given the Languedoc a look in."

Graham - how could you say such a thing?! I have to drink other rubbish sometimes, you know! ;-)

In my experience, good Pic Saint-loup can age very well. I remember visiting Clos Marie (before anyone else had heard of them) and buying some "basic" red, which was Christophe's only red cuvée at the time, and it aged beautifully for nearly 10 years.

I'm not sure what you mean in your last sentence, but if you mean did it *taste* like it could have come from anywhere, the answer is no - it tasted like an aged Pic Saint-Loup.Leon Stolarskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05277390017788435310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1632929314036232391.post-3445040173022366472011-04-29T17:47:32.793+01:002011-04-29T17:47:32.793+01:00Great to see you've given the Languedoc a look...Great to see you've given the Languedoc a look in.
Used to drink Mories quite a bit in the mid-1990s. It was a bit bretty at times which I quite liked, but I think the winery was gutted and re-fitted around 1995 or soon after plus they started making fancy cuvees and the like.
Nearby Mas Bruguiere can also age well in some years but a 1995 would be well past it by now. I presume the Morties was old enough that it could have come from anywhere (reasonably hot).Grahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11282937250538290233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1632929314036232391.post-51742060297959777232011-04-29T13:59:27.344+01:002011-04-29T13:59:27.344+01:00There's plenty more where that Auslese came fr...There's plenty more where that Auslese came from, Alan. ;-)Leon Stolarskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05277390017788435310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1632929314036232391.post-85867562743051968962011-04-29T13:15:39.608+01:002011-04-29T13:15:39.608+01:00I was lucky enough to taste the Tahi in barrel it ...I was lucky enough to taste the Tahi in barrel it is a corker and will become fabulous.
That Auslese sounds terrific too, I'm craving a glass as I sit hereAlanMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00020464540350211578noreply@blogger.com
